Viewed in 35 foreign countries and 45 of the 50 U.S. states. Be sure to read the YouTube description and the video's ending scroll to learn more about these $15,000 cars (1980) and track. Average lap speed was up to 32 m.p.h. on this twisty 1/2 mile road course with basically no
straights.

Columbus, Ohio even had a Malibu Grand Prix track located off of I-71.  Somewhere north of OSU campus and south of the I-270 loop.

Quentin Haines - Many of us at Kartington Raceway know who he is, the guy Scott warned, "...that he may write a story about you! " With the kidding and the fun set aside, Quentin has written stories published in national karting publications. What is "Cool" he has met, interviewed, spent time and has become friends with some of karting's LEGENDS. Quentin approached me recently and wanted to share these articles with the vintage and modern kart enthusiast and racers.  I do not know how many stories there are. So you will need to return and visit this page.

Note: These will be large files! We tested (timed) this link. The FASTEST was 30 seconds. For me, one to two minutes. One day, I said forget it, for it was a really LONG time; when I started the computer the next day, there was the article. Please be patient, don't get upset and we hope it comes up fast for you.

Another surprising find, 1961 Dart Kart--original unrestored survivor - This one is a little rough, but is a cool find to the start of good handling rear engine karts. The new owner was doing a little internet investigation to find out about the kart and had scheduled to strip and repaint the kart--the race was on when the vintage kart community determined what he had and NOT do any restoration until he understood what it was that he had...1961 Dart A-Bone Survivor

Very cool attic find - Ever hear of a 'Tecno' Kart? Say what? So what?? Why is this so special??? A karter received a call from his dad to get the [dad's] kart from his attic. They knew it was not American and his dad said, "it has some significance." So his son sent a picture and shared his comment to the Vintage Karting Forum to learn more. He learned that this kart was Italian built, introduced and sold in 1963; and is the basic design to nearly all of today's modern racing karts! Did I say it was also in ORIGINAL condition--basically untouched since the early 1960s? So when you finish reading the thread, take a look up in your attic.

Here is the link to the thread and join the other karters as the mystery, and horrifying truths of karts sent to the dump, unfolds on this remarkable discovery... only in the U.S.A. Added 5-6-2013:The story continues as Mark updates his progress in cleaning and returning the kart into original survivor running condition...

Cool story - Prior to the start of the recent Feb. 17 Kartington Raceway meeting. Braden Speakman told me a charming story of seven-year-old Madison Bland's persistent and relentless requests to him when they were all there at "The Rumble" in Ft. Wayne, to meet Tony Stewart.   Braden, being an official, finally took her back for a private introduction to meet Tony Stewart. Madison STOPPED talking, which left Tony smiling, captivated and could not get her to speak a word.  I quipped to Braden and Madison at the Kartingon meeting, saying: "I guess you [ Madison] only wanted to meet Tony Stewart , not necessarily wanted to talk with him?" Scott Elkes, 2-18
